Wei-Education and OnAbroad Jointly Invite Students to Attend our Experience-sharing Seminar and AskWei’s Alpha Release

Event at University of Toronto

On October 28th, 2023, Wei-Education and OnAbroad partnered to deliver a seminar to our student guests. The event venue was Wei-Education’s conference room in Richmond Hill where we invited our speaker Michael Ni, a University of Toronto alumnus, to share his experience as an undergraduate student and tips on navigating this path. After Michael’s captivating presentation, we prepared appetizers for our guests to enjoy while we introduced our AskWei software.

Mr. Yong Hu, our CEO, began with AskWei’s product vision, an AI-powered learning assistant that instantly answers user inquiries using information stored by the user and a platform where users may share informational resources with every user. After Mr. Hu’s introduction, our development team showcased the alpha version of AskWei, allowing our guests to register accounts on the AskWei application and test its functionality as end-users.

A volunteer student uploaded a piece of study material onto his private database and asked a question relating to the uploaded document. AskWei analyzed the material and provided an answer based on its contents, marking the initial milestone of success for the application.

While the Alpha version of AskWei delivers promising results, there are areas that we can improve for a better user experience. Guests to our event ranged from students currently completing their secondary education to undergraduate students from various universities, including University of Toronto, University of Ottawa, and McGill University. From them, we received valuable feedback coming from different perspectives. Going forward, we will incorporate good suggestions into AskWei’s design and make any necessary adjustments to the app.

Wei-Education’s development team will continue to work on improving the software’s algorithm so it could provide more efficient computations and more accurate answers to our users. We believe our team will make AskWei’s product vision into reality and improve upon the alpha prototype of AskWei for our beta launch in the near future.
